Just prior to leaving work and heading for home on my bicycle, I took a brief gander at the calendar, noticing that February has only 28 days! The arrogance! Why can’t you just conform like so many other good months…
That means that Noscope March, currently dubbed “Arboretum”, will be barebones and delayed for a few days. No newsletter and no layered PSD download (atleast initially). I might get a new header up for tonight, I might not.
Until then, here’s a rendertest of what I have so far:

Update: Finished it: No March – Arboretum.
intriguing…
btw: Off topic but, you’re very lucky to be able to cycle to/from work.. just given up the motorway trek myself!
It needs a couple of spinners and a humongous monitor with a japanese chick sucking down strawberries…
Hehe, that could totally work!
It’s already not, though… it’s actually turning into something of a rehash of Surrealisme
Nik,
Yeh, I enjoy the cycling, and with a 9-17 office job it’s good for me too. It’s not always though, it’s been cooold these last days, and somehow that makes exhausts stick close to the ground.
Ahhh! Sucked into unstoppable loop when I go to the link you provided. What I could see of image 1, before it was reloaded looked tight though. Looking forward to more.
Argh, this might be causing my server to hang all the time (like it did tonight!).
Can you elaborate on this?
i don’t really have suggestions or anything, but i think it looks gorgeous.
Thanks mj.
I’d better get to work on the remaining…
All those just keep reloading for me.
Grrr! Must be a Safari thing? Mac only for sure! Can you possibly answer these questions:
I’d really appreciate your help.
Hey Joen..
No, the numbers are at the end of the URL’s.
Looks like it’s the entire page.
Not too sure on this, but appeas that the whole page is refreshing.
All on OSX:
Safari =
Firefox =
IE 5.2 =
No refresh, loads then refresh to blank white page.
Camino =
Omniweb 5 =
Excellent Nik, thanks a lot.
One more thing. Can you test the following page directly?
http://www.noscope.com/installments/showissue.php?2005_0303
That’s the page that gets loaded in an iframe in the usual links.
If that’s the page the reloads indefinitely, then I’ve found the page to fix.
That page loads fine Joen. No refresh. I guess that means it’s the page that contains the iFrame?
Nik, thanks so much for your help on this. Can you check out the following page?
http://www.noscope.com/installments/debug.html
This page does contain the iframe. I’m fairly sure that’s the culprit. However, before this page, there is a “distribution” page, that might also be the culprit. If this page reloads, then that’s the one I have to fix, and not the distribution page.
Thanks again.
That page loads ok… it appears to flash once to start (might be me) but loads the content perfectly.
I think that flashing happens when the #1 is appended, so I won’t worry about that.
I’m narrowing it down. I’ve taken a simpler approach, without the distribution. Does this page work?
http://www.noscope.com/installments/debug.php?2005_03
Yeh.. perfect!
Excellent! It’ll be it then! … right after I come home from work…
Thanks for your help mate, I owe you a pint.
No worries..
yes, all as above although the current links in the articles are still reloading (but then it could be that youve not had a chance to fix them yet)
… Wait a moment… a pattern is forming
This page works, right?
But this page doesn’t? (i.e. it reloads)
Yeh that’s right… for me anyway:
My Setup:
OSX 10.3.8 and Safari 1.2.4 (v125.12)
The latest mac spec as far as I’m aware.
… pretty strange! Appearantly Safari doesn’t like directlinks to the anchors.
That means that for now, I’ll just link without the anchors…
This is shotgun debugging at it’s best
Thanks.
