The most recent episode of sci-fi island adventure Lost is, in my opinion, the best episode of a television show, ever. If you haven’t watched it yet (or followed the show), now’s the time to do so. If nothing else then to not be spoiled here. Lost season 4 episode 5 is a re-interpretation of Star Trek’s “All Good Things” episode. That means it’s full of awesome. Chock full of awesome.
I’m just continually amazed by this show. It really keeps getting better and better for every single episode. So far there hasn’t been a single episode that I didn’t enjoy. I don’t know how they do it; I really don’t.
Which reminds me, have you read anything by Brian K. Vaughan? You might know Y: The Last Man, which I highly recommend. He wrote some episodes for lost as well.
BTW: As with Lost, do not read anything about Y. Just read Y itself.
I feel the same way. There’s been slow going episodes, but even those were always way better than anything comparable on TV.
I haven’t read any Y: The Last Man, but it’s now on my to-read list, right after Chasm City, Eon and Enders Shadow.
Ever since Desmond was introduced in his first flashback episode, he’s been my favorite character.
I was really in awe with episode 5… it felt like a season finale and I’d have to say the best Lost episode, ever.
The way they combined flashbacks/flashfowards and then that last scene with the phone conversation was just… amazing.
It seems that a lot of people really enjoyed this past episode. It was definitely one of my favorites. And considering it was rather introspective, that says a lot.
P.S. If you’re not already, you really should be reading Apropos of Something’s Lost-vivor recaps.
One of the best episodes ever! I loved it. Desmond rocks.
