Style: Exotic Fauna

Exotic Fauna

Mold has been growin on Noscope! It came out of no-where, and slowly infested this place. The hull was all rotten to the core! I barely poked at the surface and the lot fell apart. I knew then that a regular paint-job wouldn’t do.

So I secretly gathered ingredients whose names I had forgotten and whose contents no longer mattered and concocted a potion so sweet that not even a squishee made up entirely of syrup would compare. You’d spit it out you would!

I call it: Exotic Fauna!

(Of course you could change your preferences if you’re not supposed to get stinged in your eyes).

Hey Joen im loving the new layout its certainly unique!

On a slightly more selfish/offkey note, are you planning to include your old flash changing header with fauna anytime soon or perhaps a guide on how to make it. That was a thing of beauty.

I've seached for guides, sorce, anything but to no avail.

If not a firm no should finish the search.

Keep up the great work here and with fauna!

  2. Nicely formulated Joen. You are as much an artist of the visual plateau as you are a linguistic juggler. The combination transform this place into something truly unique. To top it off, I suggest everyone listen to Streamingsoundtracks.com while indulging this exotic fauna. The end result is a magical journey of cinematic proportion. Simply put, epic!

What an immensely positive feedback to what is essentially a "goddam this Fauna look is everywhere, I have to stand out" act of desperation.

That said, I did have to kill some darlings to make it work. The header, for instance, was pretty tough for me to kill off... I mean, how will people now find my installments?

Secondly, I usually box things up, so removing borders and lines was hard for me too. While not overly successful, I think it works.

Aww, come on. His head is big enough as it is. No more fawning over fauna.

Har har. Fawning over fauna that's a good one :)

    I agree, btw :)

    Anonymous,

The source for the header will be released at some point. The problem right now is lack of time. No a firm yes, with no date on it.

Anders old friend, you have a way with words yourself :)

Thanks a lot, I'm proud you could appreciate it!

  4. If you keep stats, it'd be nice to see what effect the missing header really has for your installments.

Well, not many people visit that section anyway. It's slightly depressing...

Stats show that less than 4% visit my installments section, while a whopping 7% a goddamn sidenote detailing some stupid bogus Star Wars info.

    Depressing isn't it?

  6. Ha! Maybe a "Visit my uber-installments NOW" button in the sidebar would work better...

...good to know that big-ass-headers are often overlooked (in favour of stupid bogus Star Wars info).

Nice skin change. I'm digg'n it. You seem to of lost some field of depth on this one, but it still looks good. Nice refreshing change.

Wow, I absolutely love it! Great use of color - especially with the splashes of blue.

    James,

I have an idea I want to try for february, which may help out :)

    Ramick,

Thanks. Yep, a bit of depth has been lost, but this was on my "kill your darlings" list. Don't underestimate flat stuff :)

    Thom,

    Thanks, appreciate it!
