Vote Turtleshell [Update 2]
VOTE TURTLE
Lucky me, I’ve been nominated for “Most influential Flash site of 1998″ with my Turtleshell Flash site. It’s an honor just to be nominated, but I would really enjoy actually winning the title. So please, be a pal, vote turtles’ hell. Vote!
Note: The vote is open August 8th to August 10th. Only 1 vote per voter is counted.
Update: The vote is closed. Results will be in August 11th.
Update 2: Unfortunately, I didn’t win. It was a mind-boggling honor just to be nominated. Thanks for all the votes.

Wow, i am amazed i remember all those sites .. crazy.
Thanks both! I appreciate it. It’s very surreal, this thing. An 8 year old blast from the past.
And voted.
Not that I’d ever heard of it in 1998, but I’m sure it was influential in it’s day. (Was it visited a lot?)

I suppose it wasn’t widely “influential” in itself, but that day in June ’99 when it won “Macromedia Site of the Day” my hitcount increased 50-fold. I think, more than anything else, that’s what made it reach the list it’s on today. Even so, it’s a huge honor and it would be great fun to win.
I beg to differ! as i think i have mentioned before turtleshell (version 2) pretty much directly inspired me to pursue a career in web/flash design. It was the first site i saw that got me really excited about what the internet could do/be (before all this web 2.0 stuff). All these years later and i have just this week graduated from a design degree!
so for me it was very influential.
Done. :)
You like circles. ;)
Your English has greatly improved since 1998. :)

There’s nothing quite like round shapes and curves. Jokes are welcome.
Most thankfully it has :)
Wow, I thought we’d all agreed not to mention the hideous reality that was the net in the end of the 90′s anymore. :b
Ah well. :)
(I did vote for it, either way)
Voted. I remember this one. This is why I’ve kept up with your work this long… I especially llike the 2000 version.
I’m trying to do what I can to help:

Yep, those were the days.
Even if unusable, I kinda miss the whole “we don’t care, we’re just playing” attitude.
Thanks for the vote.

You’re too kind, I’m overwhelmed. Thanks.
Damn, I must have just missed out. Well you’ve got my invisible vote. :P

Oh right, the vote is closed… I’d better note that.
Thanks for your support though :)
Bad luck Joen.. looks like NRG got it this time.

It’s okay, I was nominated after all. And NRG WAS quite influential back then.

Well of course! Curves are the reason the internet’s such a success; it’s tubes are round!
