Top of screen on Windows, top of window on Mac. Obviously it can’t be different with the current Mac setup.

Sounds VERY un-Apple to me. I dont remember the last time they game you a choice in such a fundamental UI feature.

EG: Menu at top of screen, or window? – I think not.

They did get criticism, but from my point of view the criticism was mainly directed at their very odd implementation. Tab strips, dragging and dropping, it was all very unintuitive. Had they simply done like chrome, no problem.

Also, I’m not against the tabs-below movement, in fact, I’d be fine if tabs on top were an option and below was default.

This feels like a copout.

From what I understand, the tabs on top got the most criticism during the beta period, which is why Apple axed it entirely.

Glims is an addon of sorts, I gather, which optimizes real estate, or?

Because without tabs on top, you still have the added space of the title bar.

Ditching Firefox is a shame, true, but I have to agree, and once Chrome has extensions, I’ll be ditching it as well.

But I can’t understand why you’re ditching Firefox for Safari because Chrome doesn’t have extensions. Safari doesn’t either, does it?

It’s a shame, but I think I might still switch to Safari (for Windows). Firefox is getting bloated, slow and buggy. And then Chrome still lacks plugins/addons which I really need.

How wouldn't they save space? If the titlebar was removed in favor of a list of tabs, you'd save the space the titlebar takes up.

Joen: They should'a simply copied Google Chrome or Opera, but with their own tab look. It could'a worked.
