Firefox 4 Theme Mockups

    12:57 on January 06th, 2010 , ,

In case you haven’t seen it yet, Stephen Horlander — one of the interface designers for Mozilla — has put up a bunch of really interesting and lovely design mockups for Firefox 4, due late this year. I think I like the app button.

Firefox 3.5 Mini-Review

    09:43 on July 24th, 2009 , , , , , , ,

Mozilla Firefox 3.5 is the latest version of the open source project originally spun off of the Netscape browser. Its latest incarnation features private surfing, better history handling, a number of web standards display features, speed improvements and a tweaked icon.
With 3.7 already on the way, Firefox 3.5 may prove to be a short-lived pleasure. But [...]

Quick Thoughts On Mozillas Firefox 3.7 Theme Revamp Mockup

    13:22 on July 22nd, 2009 , , , , , , ,

The next Firefox browser, 3.7, is apparently scheduled for a theme revamp. As indicated by the above mockup, Mozilla is pondering radical changes (see all mockups). Some thoughts:

Clearly, Mozilla looks to embrace Windows’ glass interface to make the browser look so much the more platform-native. The idea is nice, but the current implementation looks as [...]

The once-mythical GooOS has materialized, and it’s carved in Chrome. Google has just announced that they’re entering the operating system arena with their own offering, Google Chrome OS. Here are the facts:

Linux-core

Turn Firefox Into A Chrome Clone: Misunderstood Usability

    10:55 on October 06th, 2008 , , ,

Lifehacker has an article on how you make your Firefox browser look just like Google Chrome using a few extensions. While the article really speaks to the adaptability of Firefox—the results are a close match—there’s one feature about Chrome they failed (or forgot) to replicate.
Chrome has sacrificed the browsers titlebar in favor of pushing [...]

    17:36 on September 02nd, 2008 , , , , , , ,

Yesterday, a Google-created comic-book heralded the arrival of a new web browser: Google Chrome. The accidental unveiling prompted an early announcement by Google that yes, we will indeed see another webbrowser enter the market. So there it is. The company everyone most people love is about to enter a saturated market full of passionate users. [...]

Mozilla Weave .2 Syncs Things

    09:24 on July 01st, 2008 , ,

Some have computers at home and at work. Some of those used to use Google Browser Sync, which has now gone the way of the polar bear dodo. Those people should use Mozilla Weave now.
Besides the woven logo, Weave offers syncronization of bookmarks, tabs, cookies and whatnot. In the future, it’ll even sync all [...]

Firefox 3 Beta 3

    10:41 on February 13th, 2008 , ,

Arstechnica previews the most recent Firefox 3 Beta 3. A lot of polished edges, including the first taste of the new Firefox branding, the “back / forward” keyhole design—which I honestly think requires a bit of polish. That said, the thing is shaping up quite impressively. The builds I’ve tried are fast again, and Firefox [...]

Firefox 3 Beta 2, Portable

    14:45 on December 28th, 2007

Firefox 3 promises a new way to bookmark, new security features and an integrated “type-to-launch” bookmark access feature which is not entirely different from that of Spotlight or Vistas start menu. Probably most importantly, Mozilla promises fixes to memory leaks and speed improvements.
This portable version is perfect for testing out such an early build [...]
