Found via my buddy, this russian giga-plane uses the “ground effect” to achieve a level flight near the surface of the earth, the distance relative to the wingspan. Here’s another picture of this leviathan.

Beautiful rounded pictures by Alexandre Duret-Lutz. Unless the chap has a really wierd camera, I would guess it’s the work of Photoshops “polar coordinates” filter, combined with a little careful retouching. Well done.

Beautiful China

In a morning-coffee digg, I found these beatiful images of China. Absolutely, utterly, incredibly beatiful. Sure they’re taken by a good photographer, sure they’re post-processed to increase contrast. Yet, beneath it all, it’s still a slightly alien ethereal landscape. Astonishing.
